Orchestra – Is a group of people who make music with instruments – a combination of bowed, woodwind, brass and percussion instruments. Tey are led by the conductor.
Conductor – Is the leader of the orchestra. He uses a music score to “read” all the different notes and music of all the different instruments. He conducts with a baton or a conductor’s stick. Te orchestra cannot play without a conductor to keep the time, rhythm, etc. He shows the players when and where to begin. Tey must play louder or soſter, faster or slower, etc. Te conductor interprets the music according to his own personal feelings.
Activity 1 - Music of different cultures Choose 2 cultures from the people in your province. Teach the children a traditional song & dance from those cultures. Write out the song, the background research to the song and how you will teach the children.
