1.1 Purpose Te purpose of a circulars/letters of promotion of sales is where retail merchants look to improve sales, bring new product releases to the attention of the consumer. Rather than sending higher volumes of flyers to consumers, they are instead including more information in a circular letter to bolster sales. Tis type of advertising mail, also known as direct mail, junk mail, or admail, is the delivery of advertising material to recipients of postal mail. It may be addressed to pre-selected individuals, or unaddressed and delivered on a neighbourhood-by-neighbourhood basis. Te circulars/letters of promotion of sales may or may not be printed on a letterhead.
1.2 Method Te body/information is typed with two vertical columns (parallel and newspaper columns).

Click on the Page Layout tab
• Click on Columns – the Columns Dialogue box appears • Click on two
• Set the Spacing between columns • Select Equal Column Width
